12:46 pm - Mitchell, Bean and Unger all return to Silent Hill

oberongeiger
Not only is Sean Bean officially playing Chris DeSilva/Harry Mason in Silent Hill: Revelation, but Radha Mitchell is returning as Rose and Deborah Kara Unger is back as Dahlia Gillespie!

In fact, they've already released the first promotional still showing Rose back in the Silent Hill universe, and meeting with her now-grown daughter "Heather."

Yaaaaay...

2:27 pm - The First Image from "Silent Hill: Revelation 3D"

oberongeiger
The first image is out from the shoot of the long-awaited Silent Hill movie sequel. It's also our first look at lead actress Adelaide Clemens as Heather Mason.

"You can't be dead! *I* was gonna kill you!"

As you've probably guessed, this one is supposed to be following the "Silent Hill 3" storyline. Sean Bean is currently in talks to return, but is not locked.

Michael J. Bassett of Solomon Kane is writing and directing.

12:03 pm - Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

oberongeiger

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time hit theaters last Friday. It's one of the most expensive movies based on a video game that's ever been created. My detailed review is available here.

Did anyone else see it? If so, what did you think?

12:17 pm - Loads of Resident Evil: Afterlife photos

oberongeiger
You can see lots of photos of this September's Resident Evil: Afterlife over here, some of which you might have seen already and some of which are new as of today.

The pics include numerous shots of Chris Redfield, Albert Wesker (including Wesker's exposed eyes) and a notable enemy from the Resident Evil 4 game.

10:14 am - 'Kane & Lynch' Teaser Poster

oberongeiger

It's not too often that you see a video game that is neither terribly popular NOR especially good get adapted into a movie despite the fact that nobody really cared about the property in the first place.

8:44 pm - RPG: Hotel California (Pan-fandom)

tainted_crimson
We're sadly lacking in some video game movie characters, and we'd love to see some roaming our digital halls! Lara Croft? The women of Resident Evil? Street Fighter? All welcome!

Feel free to ask any questions!

Last thing I remember, I was running for the door
I had to find the passage back to the place I was before
"Relax," said the night man,
"We are programmed to receive."

But you can never leave...

Hotel California - The Eagles

You’re traveling along a long road that seems to stretch for miles. Where your destination is, only you know that: you could be traveling home, you could be leaving home, you could be fleeing from something or someone, you could be returning to something or someone. You find yourself starting to travel through what looks like harsh, lonely desert. The road just goes on and on, and you feel yourself getting tired and needing a rest.

Just as you’re thinking that, up ahead in the distance you see a building, and you decide to stop for the night...

10:13 am - Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time - First trailer is here!

oberongeiger
Looks damn good to me. VERY big and epic - it's almost overwhelming how huge a production this appears to be. Could use a little more parkour, but otherwise this appears very promising.

12:21 pm - The King of FAILURES is more like it

oberongeiger
Check out this video (or watch it here if you prefer), which contains the first footage from The King of Fighters movie. They even conveniently show the fights in the movie alongside those in the games, just so you can clearly see how they have NOTHING in common.

12:08 pm - First posters for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

oberongeiger
Here are the first two teaser posters for next summer's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time movie. Gotta say the Prince's costume is pretty much a flawless representation of his "Warrior Within" gear...

Disney says they're hoping this franchise will be the new Pirates of the Caribbean. I assume that means the Prince's sense of humor will stay intact, but does that also mean we might see Warrior Within and The Two Thrones become the basis of two sequels if this one hits?

12:33 pm - Capcom aims to be the "Marvel" of video game movies

oberongeiger
Firstly, the news article:

Article about Capcom's approach to video-game moviesCollapse )

******

Mega Man? Only if it's CGI-animated. They might be able to do the "X" series in live action, though... if they have a big enough budget.

Bionic Commando is obvious. It writes itself. Commando soldier loses his arm, gets a new one that can stretch long and grapple onto anything with its claw. Becomes badass soldier, fights bad guys, repeat as necessary.

How about Ghouls & Ghosts? I would love to see a medieval knight battling demons and even Satan in the name of saving his beloved. Not much of a story there, but that just leaves you room to manuver.

Might I suggest Final Fight? I love these games... but maybe this one is too hard to do. Perhaps if they took a "Grindhouse"-style approach to it and made it intentionally cheesy to help offset the goofiness of "muscle-bound mayor fights back against the corrupt police and gangs of his city - using PUNCHING!"

And then there's Dead Rising, because, um... the... he's covered wars... aw hell naw, forget I said anything.
